Ludhiana (Maninder Singh) Smt. Surbhi Malik a special meeting was held at the local office of Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Gautam Jain, Election Tehsildar Mrs. Anju Bala and representatives of various political parties were also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the District Election Officer said that according to the instructions of Election Commission of India, according to the instructions by the Chief Election Officer Punjab, Chandigarh, all voter registration officers of District Ludhiana have rationalized polling stations in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. He said that various changes have been made by all the voter registration officers in the rationalization of polling stations in their respective Vidhan Sabha constituency.
During the rationalization of polling stations, total 125 polling stations of 14 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Ludhiana district are here whose buildings are the same. The names of Prantu polling stations have been upgraded.
Addressing the meeting, Smt. Surbhi Malik said that under the instructions of Election Commission of India due to less than 1500 votes during the rationalisation of polling stations, 2 booths were collected. The number of polling stations in 14 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in District Ludhiana is now 2919.
The District Election Officer further said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, according to the program mentioned under the Special Sarsary Revision of Photo Voter List on the basis of eligibility date 01-01-2024 claims and objections were received from October 17, to November 30, 2023 and date 05-01-2024 Publications are yet to be made. He said that the Election Commission of India will set up special camps in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Punjab on October 21-22 (Saturday and Sunday) and November 18-19 (Saturday and Sunday).
Deputy Commissioner-Cum-District Election Officer Ludhiana Smt. Surbhi Malik appealed to group stakeholders to make maximum votes of eligible youth especially students who have passed 12th standard so that they can be a part of strengthening Indian democracy.
At the end of the meeting, appealed to all those political parties that according to the instructions of Election Commission of India, on the basis of eligibility date 01-01-2024. During the special amendment of the voter list. L. Polling station wise b in aid of oz. L. A. Make sure to send the list to this office after assigning (Booth Level Agent). Booth level agents, accredited political parties or anyone else can submit the form in the block.
