Christian Dental College Ludhiana Unveils Renovated Department of Public Health Dentistry
Christian Dental College Ludhiana proudly announces the reopening of its renovated Department of Public Health Dentistry. This modernized facility, now equipped with state-of-the-art digital x-ray technology and fully air-conditioned, marks a significant enhancement in the college’s ongoing mission to provide high-quality, affordable dental care.
Since 1984, the Department of Public Health Dentistry has been dedicated to extending dental services to the rural communities of Punjab through its mobile dental units. This longstanding commitment to accessible healthcare was reaffirmed as Principal Dr. Abi M Thomas expressed gratitude towards local village heads for their collaboration in organizing regular dental camps across rural areas. Dr. Thomas emphasized that the department’s upgraded facilities aim to eliminate economic barriers to quality dental treatment, ensuring that financial constraints do not impede access to essential care.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sudhir Joseph, Chairman, with a dedication prayer conducted by Rt. Rev Zacharias Mar Aprem Episcopa. The event also featured Dr. William Bhatti, Director of CMC Ludhiana, as the guest of honor. Dr. Bhatti announced the introduction of extended dental clinics starting September 16, 2024, which will build on the existing services available at the CMC OPD. Christian Dental College Ludhiana is a premier institution dedicated to providing exceptional dental education and care. With a focus on community outreach and affordable treatment, the college has been serving the needs of patients across Punjab and beyond for decades.
In a poignant tribute, the conference room within the newly renovated Department of Public Health Dentistry has been named in honor of Dr. Shane Sam Mathew, an alumnus of the Batch of 2010. Dr. Mathew, who dedicated his life to serving patients in Liberia from 2016, tragically lost his life in a fire accident on September 3, 2017, at the Methodist Hospital Ganta campus. His dedication and exemplary work ethic continue to inspire, and this memorial serves as a testament to his lasting impact on the field of dental care
